Uyumbu Wildlife Management Area
Wildlife and history at crossroad.
Urambo District, Tabora Region
Uyumbu Wildlife Management Area is located in the Southwest of the old historical slave trade transit route at Usoke. On the East, Uyumbu border with Walla River Forest Reserve, and South-west, it borders with Ugalla Game Reserve. On the west, it borders with North Ugalla Forest Reserve and in the North borders with Izimbili, Ngogolo and Izengabatogilwe villages.
Animals to find
Elephants, Lion, Bufallo, Zebra, Warthog, Eland, Giraffe, Hartebeest, Waterbuck, Hippopotamus, Leopard, Duiker (Common), Kudu, Reedbuck, Sable antelope, Roan antelope, Hyena, Bushbuck, Impala and other species.
Open woodlands with tree species including timber, fruit and medicinal species.
How to access?
The nearest airstrip is the Ugalla which is about 50 km. The area can also be reached by different roads from Tabora to Urambo via Usoke village to Izimbili village.
